About Us

A Seed of Compassion

The genesis of Sunflower is rooted in the personal experiences of former foster kids and parents. Our collective personal and professional experiences have called upon us to create better outcomes within the foster care system. We choose Sunflowers to represent our organization because they symbolize strength and resiliency.

Our experiences, and the stories of countless children in foster care, planted the seeds for Sunflower. Our vision for Sunflower includes opening doors for young adults exiting foster care, mentorship programs, educational support, and more. We aim to foster community involvement and awareness, mobilizing volunteers and donors to create a network of support around foster children and parents.

The establishment of Sunflower embodies a journey driven by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to creating a better future for parents. It is a testament to the power of empathy and the difference that one person’s vision can make in addressing complex social issues.
